Helen Frey, MAEd, LMFT, LMHC, Associate Director, works in a dual capacity at Boundaries Therapy Center , both as a clinician with extensive experience as an adolescent and family therapist and as Intake Cooridinator, who manages the daily functioning of this private group practice of 20 + clinicians. Her areas of clinical interest include diagnosis and treatment of adolescents, adults and their families to foster problem-solving techniques and adjustment to situational or life stage issues. She works with couples using time effective methods to focus on marital, parenting, and extended family issues. As well, she provides treatment for family members involved in every stage of the divorce process

Sara Michaud, PsyD, CADAC, is the coordinator of the alcohol and drug recovery program at Boundaries since 2001. Her previous work was at McLean Hospital in Belmont, MA working on both the residential and inpatient units specializing in addiction and dual diagnosis. She helped develop a new residential treatment program called McLean at Naukeag for substance abusers and dual diagnosis in Ashburnham, MA. With 20 years of experience with addictions and substance abuse, Dr Michaud is known for her direct, humorous, friendly, personable approach. She treats adults, couples, and families with addiction issues, specializing in women's recovery groups, evaluations and relapse prevention. She is highly familiar with 12 step programs and many alternatives to treatment.

Veneita Flavin Burden, RN, LMHC, has many years of experience in physical and mental health, as a registered nurse (RN) and a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC). Her special area of interest and expertise is self-management of chronic pain and stress/anxiety. Another area of specialty is in stress related medical conditions. She has specific expertise in biofeedback assisted relaxation training using thermal, galvanic skin response, and surface electromyography. Her treatment approach is solution-focused, using cognitive/behavioral therapy and psychoeducational approaches.

Joan Carroll-Cronin, MSW, LICSW, provides therapy for adolescents, adults, and couples utilizing both brief and long term treatment methods. She specializes in work with individuals with Eating Disorders as well as those who are at risk for disordered eating, chemical dependency, and other behavioral problems. She also assists clients who are facing challenges and issues associated with single parenting and divorce, treatment and recovery from cancer, and bereavement. Other areas of interest include the utilization of meditation and mind/body techniques in psychotherapy, and the special concerns of athletes, as well as visual and performing artists.

Renee DeYoe, LICSW, is a licensed clinical social worker with a background in art therapy. She was on the attending staff at McLean Hospital for ten years where she treated both in and out patients. She has extensive experience working with children of all ages. Ms. DeYoe worked in residential and public schools for eight years and is well versed in Special Education concerns. She treats children with a variety of clinical concerns ranging from Anxiety, Depression, ADHD/ADD, family stresses and the like. Ms. DeYoe also enjoys working with adults around life transitions and self-image using a supportive, psychodynamic and cognitive approach.

Gilbert, Bethel, LICSW, ACSW is a licensed clinical social worker who has practiced psychotherapy for over 25 years and also has many years experience working in adoption, both international and domestic. Although her specialty is child and family work, she also works with individuals, adolescents and couples. Her approach is family-oriented using a blend of psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, education, support and play therapy. As a trained yoga teacher, Bethel is also comfortable using breathing and meditation techniques with both adults and children. Her areas of expertise include working with anxiety, depression, the cultural and identity issues related to adoption, and the range of childhood and family problems, such as school, peer, behavioral problems, ADD/DHD, divorce and somatic issues.

Linda Onuska, MSW, LISCW is a clinical social worker with extensive experience as a therapist in community mental health. She is a graduate of Simmons School of Social Work with a broad based interest in diagnosis and treatment of adolescent and adult clients. Linda sees individuals, couples and families. Therapeutic approach is eclectic based on the individual needs and goals of the client(s). Theoretical orientation is that the challenges of life are often best met with a combination of insight, humour and practical skills.

Deb Konkle, M.S., R.D., is a registered dietitian with extensive experience providing individual nutrition counseling for a variety of conditions. Areas of expertise include weight regulation, eating disorders, diabetes, cardiovascular health, gastrointestinal problems, chronic fatigue and nutritional supplementation. Her counseling style integrates both traditional and holistic nutrition principles. Deb often collaborates with other practitioners to help her clients achieve better health, including mental health counselors, massage therapist, physical therapist or chiropractors.

Nutrition counseling is often covered by health insurance when medically necessary. A referral maybe required for insurance coverage. Deb is a contracted provider of medical nutrition therapy for Tufts, Harvard Pilgrim, and Blue Cross. Priscilla Tobey, LICSW, is an experienced psychotherapist who works with adolescents, adults, couples and families. Her treatment approach is client centered, problem-focused and interavtive. She addresses a wide range of emotional, behavioral and relational challenges in areas such as marital/family conflict, life transitions, parenting, communication, intimate relationships, self-esteem, anxiety and mood issues, etc. Priscilla has a Masters degree in Social Work from Columbia University in New York. Before joining Boundaries she was Administative and Clinical Director of Mental Health Program Bay Cove Human Services in Boston.

Christhild Uhl, Ph.D., is a Licensed Psychologist with over 15 years experience providing psychotherapy and assessments for people experiencing a wide array of psychological problems. Her areas of special interest are affective and psychotic disorders, including depression and post traumatic stress disorder. She had experienc with patients suffering from traumatic brain injury and stroke. While she provides short- and long-term psychotherapy only to adults and adolescents, she is available for psychological and neuropsychological testing for children, adolescents, and adults. Dr. Uhl is an instructor in Psychology at Harvard Medical School and an Assistant Psychologist at McLean Hospital.

Madeline Wagner, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist and has been doing clinical work with adults and adolescents for more than 20 years. In addition to providing assessment, psychotherapy and consultation, she has taught and supervised clinicians-in-training in both public and private settings. While her interests and training are quite broad, some particular areas of extensive experience include working with couples, treating addictions and compulsions of all sorts, working through histories of traumatic experiences and how they affect current functioning, and ADD in adults. Dr. Wagner is available to work with other experiences of problems with anxiety or mood (e.g. issues of self-regulation, efficacy, bewilderment, conflict). She is skilled at working at brief treatment as well as longer-term psychotherapy, and enjoys working with both men and women.

Jessica Ronalds, M.Ed., LMHC, works with children, adolescents and adults with a range of presenting complaints, including anxiety, depression, learning disorders, family confilct and divorce related complications. Jessica worked for 12 years in specialized public school programs as a clinician and as an administrator. In addition she provided supervision and training for graduate students and teachers. She is well versed in special education issues, and works closely with school personnel and other providers in implementing treatment plans. Jessica was trained in family therapy and has a systems based and sociological perspective in her work with individuals as well as with families. She uses and teaches clients a variety of stress management strategies for reducing the negative effects of trauma and other stressors. Jessica incorporates congnitive and psychodynamic approaches with a client centered, strength based orientation.

Kerry Alexander, LICSW, has over 20 years experience working with adolescents, families and adults. She has treated a variety of mental health issues, including addiction, anxiety, depression, family conflict and other mental health issues. Kerry has a BS in Psychology and received her masters in Clinical Social work from Columbia University in New York.

Lynn Giles, M.A., LMHC, has extensive experience in substance abuse and addictions treatment. She is a trainer in Motivational Interviewing, and maintains an interest in positive psychology and solution-focused therapy. In her 10 plus years of experience she has provided individual, group and couples therapy to adults and adolescents, and has written several treatment curriculums for intensively based therapy programs. She has also served for eight years as a substance abuse consultant and Steering Committee member of a state-wide relapse prevention housing program. In addition, she has worked for several years providing substance abuse and mental health evaluations to both state and federal courts. Lynn has also maintained her interest in supervising clinical staff and student interns, and has recently been selected as a memeber of the Advisory Board for the University of Massachusetts Graduate Psychology Program.

Dawn Parker, MSW, LICSW, is a psychotherapist who enjoys working with adolescents, adults, and families. Her experience includes working in academic, inpatient, and outpatient settings including C.A.S.E. High School, Beth Israel Hospital, and Cambridge Health Alliance. Ms. Parker has experience treating individuals with a range of presenting concerns including bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, PTSD, and addictions. Other interests include working with individuals and families coping with major mental illness and supervising clinical trainees. Ms. Parker is a graduate of Wellesley College and Simmons College.

Jennifer Williams, LICSW is a licensed independent clinical social worker. As a graduate of Howard University, she specializes in child and family welfare. Treatment focus includes Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, anxiety, ADHD and family issues. Jennifer approaches treatment thought the cognitive behavioral, empowerment and goal-setting models. She works with children and families, adolescents and adults.

Dr. Sandor ( Sandy) Blum is an experienced psychotherapist, life coach and workplace advisor. He works with individuals and families undergoing difficult and complex life changes and who may be suffering from anxiety, depression, panic attacks, indecision and fear of change; He has expertise in treating adults with ADD, grief reactions, neurological disorders and post traumatic stress.

He uses a variety of treatment approaches including short term problem solving, traditional therapy, coaching, cognitive behavioral therapy and the use of narrative, psychodrama and existential methods when appropriate. He has been an instructor at Smith College, Simmons College and a keynote speaker at many conferences.

Dr. Blum received his undergraduate degree at Harvard, his Masters in Social Work from Boston University and his Ph.D. from Smith College. His clinical training was at Massachusetts General Hospital. He has been a special student at the Harvard University School of Social Relations and has been an instructor at Cambridge School of Management.

Sara Wells, LICSW, provides both short- and long-term psychotherapy for adolescents, adults, couples and groups. Sara is a thoughtful and dedicated clinician who employs a strengths-based, solution-focused, relational approach to help clients with a variety of presenting problems, including depression, anxiety, substance abuse, self-esteem, and relationship issues. A graduate of Simmons College School of Social Work, she also completed a post-graduate fellowship in psychoanalytic psychotherapy at the Massachusetts Institute of Psychoanalysis. In addition to Boundaries, Sara has worked in a variety of settings, including Cambridge Hospital, a Harvard University teaching facility, providing both acute and long-term assessment and treatment to a broad range of people. Sara works equally with men and women.
